When most of us think of the schools we went to and how the classrooms were, they are not like how it was in room 203. Most inner-city schools have teachers that do not care and do not have the passion that Erin Gruwell did. When you think about the teaching ethic, it was about how the students in her classroom could learn, and how they could better themselves for the future. She took a chance on them because no other teacher did. I want to become an educator that can find new teaching strategies so I can benefit the students, because everyone deserves a chance to learn and be something more in life, and make a difference.

  1. I am one of those crazy ladies who wants to work in a school like the one in the movie. I want to help kids who come from troubled homes more than anything. I want to be able to make a difference in students lives just like Erin did. They deserve all they can get!

  2. Erin showed a lot of courage when she decided to go against the other teachers and take the time to understand these kids and teach them on their level instead of the expectations the school held years prior to integration. I do not know if I would have been brave enough to do what Erin did, good luck in your teaching Kailey!

  3. I agree with you on the fact that it seems like the crazy teachers wanna work in schools like the one in the movie. However i also feel that there not really crazy just driven by passion to help their students and if thats where they can make a difference who says that its wrong.
